"I remember very clearly the moment it happened. I had been expecting it would eventually happen for a very long time: computers always get mad at me in the end and refuse to function. I've always had 2 computers at home, just in case, and would regularly transfer the datas from one to the other. Nearly all my life was on these hard drives. One day the PC died and I was left with a lonely hard drive, and a laptop. Of course I didn't immediately buy another pc, i figured the laptop would do for a while.
It did, for three months, and then one evening, the secreen froze and that was it. The hard drive could not be saved, I had to put a new empty one and restart from scratch. I lost many musics, texts I had written, photos, work ... I really loathed myself for not being smart enough to save these things before something bad happened! I got a new pc and I put the old hard-drive in it, so i could at least recover some of my old stuff. Then I bought an external hard drive. And I started to burn the important things regularly. It's been two years since my last computer drama. I kept buying external hard drives, they get cheaper and cheaper with years and their capacity increases constantly. It's the best invention ever!"
