Dead Disk
"I work as an IT desktop support. Over the last few years I had numerous cases of dead disks, crashed partitions and data lost. Recently I got a call from the manager of the company I work in. His OS wasnt loading. I went there and tried to repair the disk. The monitor freezed at 26%. I did a check on the disk with MHDD. The result was devastating. The startin 10% of the disk were filled with bad sectors which meant the MBR, Partition table everything was gone. I tried to clone the disk on another western digital disk in order to save what data I could. I still don understand how on earth I mistook the hard drives and cloned the new EMPTY disk over the old one. When I realized what I have done I thought I was going to have a heart attack. There were crucial data on that disk including a financial program, documents and personal data of the MANAGER. To make matters even worce the user was private. So in the end I did the only thing I could do. I told the manager that the disk was completly DEAD and that there was no way anyone could get the data back. That little lie is the reason I still have my job today. Anyway one of the worst days in my life."
